"The Chaney family Bible reads " Baley Chaney, Junire was bornd ..."meaning there was an older Baley Chaney in the neighborhood at the time of his birth. Along the way, he changed the spelling of his name to Bailey. His tombstone reads simply, "Bailey Chaney." I have not found that he used the name John." (Becky Chaney, 2005.)
