"Israel Jennings is buried in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Marshall Township, Lawrence County, Indiana. His gravestone reads in part "Sacred to the memory of Israel Jennings. He was a Revolutionary soldier of '76..." } B. Mar. 10, 1752, D Jan 1, 1841, A. 89 Ys. 9 Ms. 20 Ds. " This cemetery is obscure, isolated and overgrown with brush. Headstones have fallen over and broken, either the result of vandals or time. The Lawrence County Historical Society has recovered and partially restored his headstone and now has it on display in their museum in the courthouse." (David H. Judah.)
