"Elijah Greer was a child of John F. Greer." (From Mrs. Mary A. Raulston, Star Route, Monteagle, Tennessee, who says some of the information was compiled by Sylvester Greer, Dixiana, Alabama, dated August 15, 1937, as shown in the papers of Martha V. Harris of Phoenix, Arizona, about 1956.)

(NOTE FROM RALPH TERRY: The research of Lillian (Mrs. Archie T.) Greer in the 1950's to 1970's (as sent to me by Cindy Barbee, a granddaughter, email: scotlass1959@yahoo.com>, March 2002), shows that this Elijah W. Greer married Elizabeth Cook, September 13, 1821, but other researchers show that Elizabeth Cook married Elijah V. Greer. This marriage did take place in Davidson County, Tennessee, and I see no evidence that this family of Greers were in Davidson County.)
