Individual Details

Josiah Leonidas Wickline

(October, 1860 - )

Both Josia and Mary Wickline claimed West Virginia birth and West Virginia born parents. Josiah owned their home and it was not mortgaged. It was listed as a Farm, and had a Farm schedule number of 154, whatever that means. They were listed in 1900 Census, T-623, roll 1767, Monroe County, E.D. 97, Springfield Township, They were dwelling 166, family 170, and he was on line 50 of page 9A, she and the children were continued on page 9B. James B's age was listed as 12, but that would bump him into Dorsey/Doug's birthyear and does not agree with stated birth month of Feb 90. The entire family could read and write, except youngest Arthur. The children had attended school 5, 5,3, and 1 months , respectively, Josia was not found in the Soundex index, I found by scrolling through all entries in the Union area districts. He and Mary both claimed to have been married 14 years in the 1900 Census. Mary stated she was the mother of 6, 4 living, in the 1900 Census.

Much of the information about the family and descendants of Mary A. Dillon and Josiah Leonidas Wickline are from a manuscript prepared and presented to family members for Christmas 1996 by Ellie Weikle, spouse of Darrell Walton Weikle Sr., email: wwirises@aol.com>.
