Charles Hoover

(September 23, 1871 - October 6, 1941)

"Charles C. Hoover, 69, Taylor County resident since 1905, died this morning at 8:05 at Hendrick Memorial hospital. He had suffered a paralysis stroke Saturday. Funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 at the home of his only son, A. J. Hoover, 2241 State. After the service, the body will be taken in an Elliott Funeral home coach to Cottonwood, Callahan County, for burial beside the grave of his wife who died Jan. 27, 1933. Hoover was born Sept. 23, 1871, in Burnet County, Texas. he was married to Sally McQueen Sept. 19, 1895. In his earlier years he farmed in Taylor County. In recent years he had lived in Abilene. Survivors are three children, A. J. Hoover and Mrs. Hayden Harrell of Abilene, and Mrs. Bunie Balentine of Seabrook. Texas, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren."
