Mr. Howerton Gilbert Milligan, age 86 of Winnfield, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2010, at the Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield.
Born Friday, February 1, 1924 in Leachville, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Thornsberry Milligan and the late Mary Hawkins Milligan.
He served as a Seaman First Class in the U.S. Navy from 1943 until 1945 and was a Veteran of World War II. Mr. Milligan also served his country in the U.S. Army from 1947 to 1958 and was a Veteran of the Korean War. Surviving are sons, Bubba Lewis, Larry Milligan and Stan Milligan, daughters, Glenda Hunt, Janie Coolman, Delores Carpenter and Beth Stringer.
A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield. Interment will follow in the Garden Of Memories.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, August 23, 2010 and from 8:00 AM to service time on Tuesday at Southern Funeral Home.
