"I am working on my husband's family now and he has Greers, Watsons, Younces, Hambys, Churches, Hodges and others. His GGGrandmother was Mary Greer (26 April 1844-13 June 1916) and she married 15 April 1873 in Watauga Co.,NC to Emanual (Manual) Smith Watson (30 August 1846-7 December 1923) They are both buried in Laural Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Deep Gap, Watauga County, NC. I have information on their descendants and have been working on the Watsons but I am just getting started on the Greers. There is also Acquilla Arnold Watson, son of Emanual and Mary, who married Cornelia Emeline Younce. The funeral home records state that Cornelia's father was George Younce and that her mother was Martha Younce Younce. Also have an article from the paper about the 68th wedding anniversary of Acquilla and Cornelia and in it she states that they grew up in Deep Gap, about a mile from each other and that they were married in the home of her Uncle Milton Younce. Andrew J. Younce, son of Elijah Younce and Charlotte Greer, married Emeline Greer in Ashe Co., NC in 1851. Martha and Milton Younce were children of Andrew J. Younce.
