Fulbright ... joint deed of gift ... all heirs executed a deed to me." "... T. W. Fulbright was dead when deed was prepared, but we did not know it at the time but we soon learned of his death. He died in Marshall, Texas Just a few months before July 2, 1929, date of deed. ..." (Abstracts from Palo Pinto County, Texas land records pertaining to an oil and gas lease near Strawn, Lot 16, Block 19, Vol. 153, page 433; Vol. 163, page 53; and Vol. 162, page 363 (11 January 1933).)

"Sam Lansford Fulbright was a very good carpenter, and made his own coffin. It is said he kept it in the barn and at times would take a nap in it." (Interview with Carl Fulbright and his wife, Lucile, 806-592-2589 by Judia Terry in 1988. The Fulbright reunion is always at Stephenville, Texas on the 2nd weekend in June, at the Holiday Inn. Several people at the reunion talked of a "Padie" or "Pattie" who was thought to be a child of Sam and Mary Emily,I had no other information on this person, it could have been a nick name of some of the known children.)

(Other information about Sam and Mary Fulbright are from the Court House in Palo Pinto; the Mount Marion Cemetery at Strawn, Texas; Fulbright family members at family reunion in 1988; a letter from Sam Fulbright; Wiley David Hodges, 1003 Forestburg Drive, Houston, Texas 77038; and most of the dates and additional descendants came from James Lee Fulbright, Rt 1 Box 117, Nordheim, Texas 78141, 1995.)
