Mary Thirza "Polly" Ulmer
(December 19, 1825 - August 21, 1868)
"The widow of David Milton and the children moved from Georgia to Alabama along with the others of the McCleskey clan about 1854-55, and in a few years Mary was married to Allen Morton whose wife had died, leaving him with six children at home, (ages four to eighteen at the time of the 1860 census).
"Mary Thirza (Ulmer) Morton died 21 August 1868 and was buried at the old Cove Cemetery." (DESCENDANTS OF JAMES AND JOSEPH McCLESKEY, THE TEXAS GROUP, compiled by Charles S. McCleskey, 1978, pages 394-395.) Other sources have given her death year as 1866.
