John Calvin Williamson

(1811 - July, 1857)

(NOTE FROM RALPH TERRY: I have placed John Calvin Williamson as a son of Shadrack Williamson from an earlier marriage than that of Jemima. It is possible John Calvin was the son of a brother of Shadrack. Some researchers show John Calvin Williamson's father to be David Williamson (15 Jan 1786, North Carolina - 7 sep 1849, Orangeburg, South Carolina), who married Susannah Livingston (14 Mra 1787, Newberry, South Carolina - 31 Dec 1842, Orangeburg, South Carolina) on 2 Feb 1808 in Orangeburg, South Carolina)

John Calvin Williamson was called "Col. Henry," according to an account from Mildred Wilheim. John Calvin Williamson and Jerusha Williamson were first cousins, as their fathers were brothers. Much of the information on the Williamson family came from Mildred Wilhelm's notes, which were from interviews with Medline and Celia Perkins prior to 1941.

"John Calvin and Jerucia Frances Williamson were married in North Carolina. They had another baby that died as an infant. Medline knew two aunts and two uncles on her mother's side. Both uncles were Missionary Baptist preachers. One aunt married a Blakely. The generation before John Calvin were also first cousins." (Hester Perkins Fox, daughter-in-law of Medline Miriah Williamson.)
