Married on December 25, 1882 in Raleigh County to Laura Hester Ball, born January 1867, daughter of James Ardella Ball. John Frank Greer is buried at Stanaford Cemetery, Stanaford, Raleigh County, West Virginia. John Frank Greer's tombstone says "Grear." In the 1860 Lawrence County, Ohio census, he is shown as the only Greer (spelled Grear) in the household of Ballard B., age 22, born Virginia, and Eliza Williams, age 20, born Virginia.
