Individual Details

Carroll Carney

(1831 - November, 1862)

"Carroll Carney was a member of Captain Bradford's Artillery from Columbia, Mississippi in the Civil War and died in Vicksburg, Mississippi in 1862. He married Clarisa Williamson on August 17, 1848 and fathered many children by her. After Clarisa died, his sister Thankful Ann with husband William Givens moved in to help with household and children. Since Clarisa died in 1860 and his second wife Georgianne Dunaway moved in after the sister and husband had been keeping house for Carroll thereafter, the marriage with Georgianne Dunaway must have been of short duration."
