"In an old Bible Record of John Greer and hand copied for Lucile McDaniel of Jayess, Mississippi, by an elderly decendent of John Greer it is stated that John was born Oct 9, 1783. and died Dec 6, 1855. Lucile went on to say in her letter to me, "John and Sarah Greer moved to the Pike County, Mississippi area and lived there until 1849. He and his family (except daughter, Mary) then moved to Claiborne Parish, Louisiana. Newton moved back to Mississippi and raised a large family with his two wives." " (Roy Eaton, 1996.
