Cecil Sandusky Nelson was born on March 14, 1907 in Shelbyville, Tennessee, the son of Mary Frances "Fannie" (Stewart) (Blessing) Nelson (1885–1976) and her 2nd husband Joseph Weldon "Joe" Nelson Sr (1870–1953).
He was married 1st to Eddie Cooper Green (1896–1972), the daughter of Samuel Edward "Sam" Green (ca 1863- ). Cecil was married 2nd on April 16, 1974 in Bedford County to Evelyn Lisa Hanscom/b ( -1992).
Cecil was an electrician with General Motors and a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. He was also a member of the Good Samaritan Association, Friends of Argie Cooper Library, Friends of Bedford County Hospital and Madison Street City Club.
He was 93 years old when he passed away on May 14, 2000 at Bedford County Medical Center.
Preceded in death by his two wives, he was survived by two daughters and a son-in-law; two sisters; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held at Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, and burial was in Willow Mount Cemetery.
