The marriage of Walter Newman and Elizabeth Sidel is recorded at St. Stephens Parish in Cecil County, Maryland.

Walter Newman Jr. purchased 234 acres of land, in two adjoining tracts, from John, Richard, and Thomas Penn 16 October 1735 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania for L36, 5 Shillings, & 4 Pence. The land was surveyed and leased. It was called Newtown (Now called Newmanstown). Records show that his children leased some of the land. After his death, some of his sons sold their land and moved to Virginia and Ohio.
