"Hattie Sue Martin, 85, of Gurdon died Thursday, November 19, 1998. Mrs. Martin was born November 28, 1912. She was the daughter of the late Jesse and Jennie Scott Langley. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Gurdon. Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Robert Lloyd 'Buck' Martin in 1971. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Glen and Joan Martin of Everett, Washington, Donald and Mary Martin of Plain Dealing, Louisiana, and Carroll and Doris Martin of Gurdon; three daughters and sons-in-law, Willene and Charles Nipper of Port Charlotte, Florida., Margaret and Milton Lee of Gurdon and Ruthell and T. J. Smith of Gurdon; one daughter-in-law, Blanche Martin of Arkadelphia; one sister, Jessie Bever and husband Dr. Sardis Bever of El Dorado; six grandsons; five granddaughters; and three great granddaughters. Graveside services were held Saturday, November 21, at Easley Cemetery in the Hammonds Chapel community under the direction of Horne Funeral Home of Gurdon."
