Lester McClure

"Lester E. McClure, 87, of Gurdon died Wednesday, October 7, 1998, at his home. Mr. McClure was born April 19, 1911, in Gurdon, the son of the late John and Ada Brown McClure. He was a retired disabled World War II U. S. Army veteran and a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Marie Jackson McClure; two sons, Lester Joe and John Lynn McClure, both of Gurdon; four stepsons, Buddy Marion of Sheridan, Bobby Marion of Bella Vista and Larry Marion and David Marion, both of Gurdon; one stepdaughter, Pat Brashere of Bolivar, Mo.; four half-brothers, John Wayne McClure, Delmus McClure, Billy Wayne McClure and A. B. McClure all of Gurdon; one half-sister, Lavelle Easley of Gurdon; ten grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Graveside services were held Saturday, October 10; at 11:00 a.m. at South Fork Cemetery with Rev. Charlie Williams officiating. Interment was under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia." (Gurdon Times, October 18, 1998.)
