My name is Catherine (Craghead) Osborn. My father is William Douglass Craghead and my grandfather is William Dinwiddie Craghead. There seems to be a wrong date of my grandfather's marriage going around. I think information from Mary Blount, my great aunt. I have the marriage certificate in my hands and the date of marriage of William Dinwiddie Craghead and Ethelyne Virgie Turner is: July 6, 1923. They were married in Washington DC. My dad is still living and is now in an assisted living facility. He had the records. Since he was born in 1921 I guess he wanted to hide the date and in fact tried to cover the date on the certificate with a 20 but he was unsuccessful as you can see the orginal date and the witnesses all signed in 1923. I would really like to start working on my dad's family history and I wanted to set the record straight on the marriage date. I do have some history that my step mom was working on so I guess I will start from there. (2008)
