Marguerite Pettitt Henderson was born May 22, 1925 in Dallas, Texas to J. D. and Sarah Pettitt. She died at the age of 85 in Greenville, Texas on Sunday September 26, 2010. She graduated second in her class from Scurry-Rosser High School in May of 1941. She was a "Rosie the Riveter" During WWII at the Sand Diego Naval Shipyards. Attending SMU night school while working during the day, she became an accountant. After retiring from work, she owned and operated Girl Friday Bookkeeping and Tax Service. Survivors include her brother Harvey Taylor and wife, Wanda, of Gun Barrel City, Texas; sister, Virgie Mangham and husband, Don, of Dallas, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family appreciates the care given Marguerite during the last six months of her life by the VistaCare Hospice and Greenville Health and Rehabilitation Center and a special thank you to Dell Grey and Birdie Lindsey who were with her when she died.
