(NOTE FROM RALPH TERRY: Some researchers have shown James Richard Greer to have been a child of Richard Greer and Rebecca Henson. However, from the genealogy chart of Richard L. Greer, Marion, Virginia, 1985, it appears that he was the son of Richard's daughter, Agnes and a cousin, Denis Greer.)
"According to the Carter family research, there was another son of Richard Greer and second wife, Nancy. He was James Richard Greer, born Octobet 22, 1866 in Brown Hill, Franklin County, Virginia, married Mary Ann Spencer on May 10, 1888. However (the above source) shows James Richard Greer to be the son of Agnes "Aggie" Greer and first husband, Denis Greer who was her cousin. This makes more sense in light of his birthdate."
