"Sandra Odessa Steffey, age 72, of Coleman, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011 in Coleman. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 19, at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Elmer Nickell, officiating, and Steve Nickell, assisting. Burial will follow at the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.
"She was born Sandra Odessa Keeney on April 11, 1939, in Coleman to Don Keeney and Ada Oneta Dowdy Keeney. Sandra was raised in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School. On June 15, 1963 she married Doyle Steffey in Coleman. Sandra was a nurses aide at Holiday Hill Nursing Home and worked at Smitty's Laundry. She was a life-long resident of Coleman where she was a member of the United Pentecostal Church and a volunteer at the Coleman Senior Center. Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, husband Doyle Steffey, and one sister, Mary Funderberg.
"She is survived by one sister, Geneva Morton of Coleman; four nephews, Tommy Funderberg, Steve Funderberg, and Mike Funderberg, all of Coleman, and James Snider of San Angelo; two nieces, Susie Cullpepper and husband Jerry of Zephyr, and Mary Odessa of Paint Rock; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
"Family visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street."
