"VALLE DE ORO - Udell Griffith Perrin, 88, died Monday, March 30, 2009. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 5400 S. Bell St., with the Rev. Jeff Ponder, pastor of First Baptist Church in Bushland, officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Anton Cemetery in Anton. Mrs. Perrin was born Sept. 1, 1920, in Haskell County and moved to Valle De Oro in 1980. She owned and operated Perrin's Convenience Store in Valle De Oro for 10 years. Earlier, she had operated a beauty shop in New Deal for 12 years. She loved and served her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank P. Perrin, in 1992; and a daughter, Jeannette Perrin. Survivors include two sons, John I. Perrin and wife Shirley of New Britain, Conn., and Frank P. Perrin and wife Ruth of Valle De Oro; a daughter, Patsy Dietz of Fritch; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild." (Amarillo Globe-News, April 1, 2009.)
