Patricia D. "Patsy" Howe

"Patsy Estes died on Valentines Day morning, February 14, 2000 at All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas after a six-week struggle with Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome. She had turned 73 on January 29, 2000. Mrs. Estes was the childhood sweetheart and wife of Billie Sol Estes of Granbury, Texas, and formerly of Pecos, Abilene and Brady, Texas. Mrs. Estes was born in Sweetwater, Texas on January 29, 1927. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Howe. Mr. Howe preceded in death in 1998, and her sister Betty Lewallen and she are survived by her mother, who resides in San Antonio. Mr. and Mrs. Estes had moved to Granbury in August of 1999 from Brady, Texas. While in Brady, Mrs. Estes served as vice-president of the Brady Museum Board, and the Women's Investment Club and was a founding member of the Community church of Christ. She was known there for opening the bin Barn which provides food and clothing for those in need. Prior to living in Brady, Mrs. Estes lived in Abilene. She was a member of the University Church of Christ where she was active in the bus ministry and P.T.A. Mrs. Estes is survived by her husband, Billie Sol of Granbury and her five children. They are: Dr. and Mrs. Larry Padget of Granbury, Dr. Barlow Smith and January Harman of Marble Falls and Austin, Dawn Stevens of Marble Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Billie Sol Estes, Jr. of Houston and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Lovell of Granbury. She is survived by eleven grandchildren: Patricia Tedford of Pflugerville, Texas, Aimee Tedford of Arlington, Star Bright Harman of Austin, Shane Stevens of San Marcos, Clay Stevens of College Station and Cole Stevens of Abilene, and Jeremy, James, Jacob, and Benjamin Sol of Houston and Lillian Lovell of Granbury. Other survivors of Mrs. Estes in Abilene are Dr. and Mrs. John L. Estes, Jr., Dr. and Mrs. John L. Estes III, Dr. and Mrs. David Bailey, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tindol and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Estes, Mr. and Mrs. Andy Ladyman; in Clyde: Mr. and Mrs. Diehl Estes, Mr. and Mrs. Word Estes, Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Estes, DeNell and Brenda Estes, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Holcomb and Debra and Karen, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Lastovica, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Bob Lastovica and Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Jim Lastovica; Mike Lewallen and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Maner of Lubbock, TX. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and friends. Services will be held at the Granbury Chruch of Christ at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2000 at 1905 West Pearl Street in Granbury, Texas. She will be buried at the Granbury Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., at Wiley Funeral Home, 400 E. Hwy 377, Granbury, Texas.
