"Moses Nelson married Betsy McFarland, 31 March 1807." (Davidson County, Tennessee Marriage Records.)
1830 Bedford County, Tennessee census: Moses NELSON: 1 male 5-10 (?), 1 male 10-15 (Benjamin A.), 1 male 15-20 (John W.), 1 male 50-60 (Moses), 1 female 5-10 (?), 1 female 40-50 (Elizabeth).
1850 Bedford County, Tennessee census, family #56, page 5: Moses NELSON, 70, NC; Elizabeth NELSON, 69, NC; B. A. NELSON, 32, Tenn; Agnes J. NELSON, 31, Tenn; Moses NELSON, 12, Tenn; John NELSON, 7, Tenn; Sarah D. NELSON, 5, Tenn; Robert M. NELSON, 2, Tenn.
1860 Bedford County, Tennessee census, District 3, Shelbyville Post Office, taken 11 June 1860, Dwelling/Family #329/329: Moses NELSON, 82, male, white, Tennessee; Elizabeth NELSON, 80, female, white, Tennessee; Lany NELSON, 19, fe, white, Tennessee. (Benjamin Nelson and children were living next door to his father, Moses Nelson, and two doors away from his first cousin, Sarah Nelson Holland, a widow. I do not know for sure who Lany Nelson is ... I think it may be Benjamin's second wife, Laney, who he married about this time. Apparently these household were somewhat mixed up.)
