LAMESA (Special) Services for Doyle E. Terry, 86, of Lubbock will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Northridge Methodist Church in Lamesa, the Rev. Keith Wiseman of Lubbock officiating. Burial will be in Lamesa Memorial Park under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. He died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at Covenant Medical Center.
He was born December. 17, 1913, in Wolf City. He married Virginia Lou Inklebarger on October 2, 1934, in New Lynn. He moved to Dawson County in 1946 from Lynn County. He served in the U.S. Army in Japan during World War II. He was a staff sergeant. He farmed in Dawson County for many years. He moved to Lubbock in 1997.
He was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Terry in 1977.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jerri Lou Simmons-Asmussen of Lubbock; a sister, Irene Frazier of Slaton; a brother, C.B. "Chang" Terry of Lubbock.
