The 1940 Long Beach, Los Angeles County census, E. 67th Street, shows Wesley and Mabel Byrns, with children John T. Terry, 9, Terry T. Terry, 6, Nancy Byrns, 2, Danny Byrns, 1, Norvall J Burns, 16. The Terry was later crossed out. I assume the 2 Terry boys were the sons of Othar Terry, but took the Byrns names as shown by later records.
