1870 and 1880 Freestone County, Texas census. Moved to Limestone Co, Texas shortly after 1880.
"31 December 1875 - Mary A. Click was appointed guardian of minors: Elbridge L., Joanna, James L., and Leal Click." (Freestone County, Texas Probate Records.)
"Sept 27 1891 - Farrar, Texas, Limeston Co --- Mr. L. C. Newman, Dear Nephew - With pleasure I seat myself to answer your kind and welcome letter I recieved some time ago. I was very glad to hear from you and hear you was all well. This leaves all well - I have no news to write only we are needing rain very bad - it has not rained any to amount to any thing in nearly two months - Every thing is dried up and there is not much water for stock - We will not make much syrup this year on the account of no rain. we have got about 5 and a half bales of cotton and about 4 to pick yet - Well you must come out Christmas if it is - Sam Click is out here - I have not seen him since he was a very small boy - I would like to know how you all come out about the Wild man and What they Done with him, Well I will bring my letter to a close by asking you to Write soon and often to your Aunt Mary A Click Martha - Dear sister - with pleasure I seat my self to answer your kind and welcome letter this leaves us all well and hope it will find you all the same - I have no News to write at this time - I will be expecting you to take Dinner with me Christmas - I think you can come - You have made a good crop - I will close by asking you to Write Soon to Your Sister - Mary A. "Mary A. Click, born November 1, 1838, died December 24, 1897. Wife of A. J. Click." (Tombstone from cemetery book. Some records indicate Mary Ann died in 1891. To reach the Donie Cemetery from Donie coming toward Teague: Take FM 80 north. About a mile from the Donie State Bank, on the left hand side of the road is a tin barn sitting back from the road with a metal gate and this is on a curve; about 1/4 mile further is another metal gate, however of the cross member type; look past two more gate and up on a hill to your left and you will find this cemetery. You can drive the path to the cemetery if the gate is unlocked. If not you will have to walk about 1/2 mile.)
