Individual Details
Lola Mae Hanson
(February 13, 1874 - 1947)
FAG 185034025
(NOTE FROM RALPH TERRY: Even though family information gives Lola Mae (Hanson) Coppedge's birthdate as February 13, 1872, census records indicate her birthyear to be later, probably 1875.)
"I have a copy of a 1902 application to the Mississippi Choctaw tribe completed by Lola Hanson Coppedge where she is supposed to be 1/8th Indian. I also received copies of Elizabeth Hanson Howell's transcript. In Lola's transcript they asked about her Indian lineage and she claims it thru her father, Pinkney Hanson, thru his mother, Martha Dunn Hanson, and thru Martha's mother, Jane Harris. It is the first time I have seen the name Jane Harris! I have seen Nancy (?) listed before. The second child of John Dunn you have listed as Harris Dunn. That would fit in if the mom's last name was Harris. It seems like they were denied application in to the Dawes rolls as they could not prove that their ancestors were not granted land from the Dancing Rabbit Treaty of 1830."
