Mrs. Mary Frances “Patsy” Holmes of Geneva, Alabama went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 19, 2014. She was 69.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at the Geneva Church of Christ with Minister Harry O. Adkison officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the LaFayette City Cemetery in LaFayette, Alabama with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Geneva, Tuesday, October 21, 2014, from 6 until 8 p.m.
Patsy was born November 14, 1944, in Dora, Alabama to the late Giles and Sarah Frances Whitman Barrett. She enjoyed working in her yards and supporting her two sons as they were growing up playing various sports. After thirty years of service, she retired from the Citizen’s Bank in Geneva. Patsy was a very loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, a sister, Ozzie Lee, and in 1986 her devoted husband, Maynard L. Holmes, preceded her in death.
