Services celebrating the life of Joseph William Benoit, Jr will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 19, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Blanchard, LA. Officiating the service will be Dr. Doug Allen. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens North, Blanchard. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on May 18th at Rose-Neath, Marshall Street, Shreveport, LA.
Joseph was born on September 18, 1933 in East Point, LA and went to be with our Heavenly Father on May 16, 2013. He was a graduate of Fair Park High School, a longtime resident of Blanchard, LA, was a member of First Baptist Church, Blanchard, the Marshall Flying Club and Masonic Lodge. Mr. Benoit was a project manager for Waukesha Pierce Industries and retired at the age of 79. He loved building and flying model airplanes. Joe will be remembered by many whom he entertained with his magic tricks and love of singing.
Mr. Benoit was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Brown Benoit, his second wife, Peggy Wenk Benoit, father, Joseph William Benoit, mother, Cumalie Benoit, twin sister, Barbara Benoit Kent, brothers, Plute McConnell and Alec Benoit.
Left to cherish his precious memory are his wife, Deborah Kay Walker Benoit, son, Joseph William Benoit, III (Joey) and wife, Cheryl of New Braunfels, TX; daughter, Robin Benoit Boone and husband, David of Highland Village, TX. Mr. Benoit is also survived by his grandchildren, Chad Elliott and wife Britney, Wes Elliott, Connor Edwards and Joshua Benoit; great-grandchildren, Parker and Peyton Elliott.
Honoring Joseph as pallbearers will be; Jeff Kent, Bart McConnell, Greg McConnell, Lynn Crawford, Frank Brookings and Billy Crawford.
