From the notes of Jay Terry: Information provided by Mary Echols Simpson, Houston, Texas. Death date was determined from a letter written by oldest son of Charles Terry stating "father is dead." A record of this family provided by Mary Echols Simpson of Houston, Texas appears to have been taken from a family bible. The dates match census records, but are more complete. Much of the family genealogy was written in a 1934 letter by Talbot Field, family genealogist. The Civil War Record for Charles Terry appears on the roll of Capt. Hammer's Mississippi Company Calvary as Sargeant (no dates).
