Junior Ray Holdridge entered eternal life on Saturday, January 14, 2012. He was born on December 14, 1928, in Cowlington, Oklahoma to Aubrey Turner and Mary Ann (Deason) Holdridge. He attended Wainwright Public Schools and Connors State College. He married the love of his life, Dorma, on May 29, 1950. They lived all over Oklahoma as he worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. After 36 years with the phone company he retired to become a farmer/rancher in the Haskell area and returned to the Muskogee area in recent years. He was a Past Master of Haskell Lodge No. 334 AF & AM, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason in the McAlester Consistory, a Knight Templar in the Muskogee York Rite Bodies and a Noble in Akdar Shrine, a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers America, and former member of the Muskogee Jaycees. Traveling and camping with family and friends was a favorite past time. He loved dirt modified car racing and supporting his son's racing endeavors as head mechanic and crew chief. He was a man that never met a stranger and loved his family second to God. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary Ann Johnson, brother, Jack Holdridge, grandson, Jason Dewayne Holdridge, great grandson, Gavin Isaiah Kaiser, and son-in-law, Mike Swick. He is survived by his wife, Dorma Holdridge of the home; his children, Karen Swick, Kenny Holdridge and wife Pam, Claudia Bartlett and husband Bart, and Janet Kaiser and husband Ronnie; grandchildren, Brandon Holdridge, Suzanne Glass and husband Jake, Hayley Allred and husband Kevin, Dee Ann Drewett, Jake Kaiser and wife Angela, Justin Kaiser, Trey Bartlett and Sarah Bartlett; great grandchildren, Emersen Glass, Addesen Glass, Finlee Allred, and Jonah Kaiser; siblings, Maudine Nevile, Lou Yates, Eunice Guthrie and husband Cleo, Marvin Holdridge and wife Teresa, Marie Rainwater, Rhonda Frazier and husband Carl, and Brenda Grant and husband Steve; sister-in-law, Norma Holdridge and brother-in-law, Bob Dotson and wife June. Also surviving are multiple nieces, nephews, other extended family and a host of friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Timothy Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Junior Ray's grandsons, Brandon Holdridge, Jake Kaiser, Justin Kaiser, Trey Bartlett, Jake Glass, and Kevin Allred. Honorary Pallbearers are Danny Leatherman, Bill Nutt, Gary Andrews, and Marion Graves. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Junior Ray's memory to the Parkinson Foundation of Oklahoma, 720 W Wilshire Blvd, Suite 101H, Oklahoma City, OK 73116. Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
