"Samuel "Sam" "Pappy" Franklin Hunt III, 79, of Weatherford passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at his home. Funeral: Services celebrating his life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm St., Weatherford. Burial: Hunt Cemetery near Georgetown, at a later date. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel. Sam was born Nov. 25, 1936, in Beeville to Samuel Franklin Jr. and Mary Hunt. He retired from Lockheed-Martin after over 30 years of service. Sam was an avid builder of model airplanes. Additionally, "Hunt Sharkers" and was both a Mason and a Shriner. Sam had a way of making people laugh and had a personal library of numerous jokes. Sam cherished time spent with his family. Sam was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: His wife, Linda; five children; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his sister." (Published in Star-Telegram on Mar. 19, 2016)
