Christopher Andrew Brocchini, age 59 and long time resident of Merced, passed away on Jan. 3, 2013 in Fresno, CA. He was born May 15, 1953 to George and Violet Brocchini. He was their first born child. Christopher (known as Chris to family and friends) attended school at Merced High and college at Merced J.C. Chris was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and obtained the level of Eagle Scout. In October 1994 Chris joined the United States Air Force. After leaving the Air Force, he worked at Yosemite National Park as a cook.
Chris enjoyed many hobbies. He was an avid sports fan and collected cards and jerseys. He loved country music and played the guitar.
He is preceded in death by his father George Brocchini and brother Michael Brocchini.
He is survived by his mother Violet Brocchini of Atwater and brother David (Clara) Brocchini of Chowchilla, CA.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A visitation for Chris will be held Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home in Atwater, CA. from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be on Friday January 11, 2013 at Evergreen Cemetery in Merced at 12:00. Military honors will be provided by Travis Air Force Base.
