George Robert Brocchini, a long time resident of Merced County, passed away on February 20, 2010 in Chowchilla, California at the age of 79. George was born to parents Robert and Catherine Brocchini on September 25, 1930 in Oakland California. As a young man, George served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Korea. While on leave he met and married the love of his life Violet. They had three sons and later moved to Fremont, California.
In 1969 George and his family moved to Merced, California where they raised their sons, George later retired for Pacific Bell Telephone Company. As George enjoyed his retirement he loved fishing, camping. George and Violet also loved to travel, visiting every state in the United States and being a number one Oakland Raider's Fan.
He is preceded in death by his son Michael Brocchini.
