Mr. Jerry Glenn Rogers, of Jenny Lind, Arkansas died Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was 69 years old. He was the son of the late Lowell and Gladys Rogers.
Mr. Rogers was a truck driver for over 20 years prior to owning his own construction company, Rogers Construction. He loved to fish, hunt and race cars in his younger days. He served many different roles in his local community over the years that included Deputy Constable for a time and working as a volunteer fireman for many years. He was a member of Howard Hill Assembly of God Church.
Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife of 50 years: Joyce Roger; 2 sons: Robert Rogers and his wife, Brenda of Galena, Kansas and Lowell Rogers and his wife, Jodi of Jenny Lind, Arkansas; 1 brother: Eddie Paul Rogers and his wife, Joyce of Mulberry, Arkansas; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; other relatives; and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 children: Michelle Denise and Timothy Dewayne Rogers; 2 brother: Doyle Henry Rogers and Ronnie Lynn Rogers; and 1 granddaughter: Stephanie Danielle Baily.
Funeral service was held on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood, Arkansas. He was laid to rest at Steep Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Shawn Rogers, Dennis Tomlin, David Cantrell, Jeff Winford, Calvin Kirkham and James Rogers.
Honorary pallbears were Jared Rogers, Cody Rogers, Dereck Rogers, Brandon Bailey, Aaron Rogers, Cory Moates, Bucky Rogers and Steve Fox.
