Archie Walter Gray, 58, of 518 E. Fifth St., Muscatine, was pronounced dead on arrival at Muscatine General hospital Saturday at 7:15 p.m., after a sudden illness. Funeral services will be held Friday at Kastor and Maxon Funeral Home in El Paso, Texas. Burial will be in Restlawn cemetery, El Paso. Visitation will be held this evening at the George M. Wittich Funeral home.

Born in Texas March 21, 1911, a son of Walter Riley and Ida Cartright Gray, he had resided here six years.
He married Willie Bell in Texas. Mr. Gray had been employed as a welder.

Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Willie E. Bell of El Paso; two sons, Sammy in Viet Nam and Ernest J. of Muscatine; nine daughters, Mrs. Ted (Mary) Baer of El Paso; Mrs. Earl (Peggy) Schmelzer, Muscatine; Mrs. John (Betty) Russin of Under Hill, Vt.; Mrs. Dorothy Little of California; Mrs. Allen (Joyce) Harris of Muscatine; Mrs. Hazel Rogers, Edna, Anita and Carol Gray, all of El Paso; four brothers, Stanley and Charles of California; Andrea of Connecticut; Wilson of Missouri and Allen of Arizona; his father, Walter R. Gray of California and his mother, Ida Cartright of El Paso and 23 grandchildren.
