"Ayodele "Ayo" Adewuyi Aladefa age 46 of Abilene, Texas passed from this life on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at his home in Abilene. Services will be Thursday, May 24, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. David McLean officiating. Interment will follow with services under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Coleman. The family will receive friends Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home.

"Ayodele was born December 31, 1970 in Ibadan, Oyo State, Southwestern Nigeria to Bolaji and Patricia Mojisola Aladefa. He started his elementary Education at ICC Primary School, Agugu Ibadan, Nigeria and continued at Olubadan High School. He later attended Abilene Christian University.

"Ayo, as affectionately called by his friends and family, was a beautiful Young man and an accomplished World Class athlete. He was a former African Long Jump Champion, a Commnwealth Games Finalist, an All-Time African Long Jumper, and held multiple All-American NCAA Division 2 Champion titles.

"He is survived by his mother, Patricia Aladefa, his beloved wife Marlais Kenney of Abilene, Texas , two Brothers Adeyemi Aladefa of St Louis, Missouri and Kehinde Aladefa, MD of Rosemead, CA, four sisters Bisi Olukoju of Lagos, Nigeria, Taiwo Aladefa-Olowu of Overland, Kansas, Tope Bakre of Dublin, Ireland and Tooke Aladefa of Houston, Texas Numerous Nephews, Nieces, Uncles, Aunts and cousins.

"Pallbears are Adeyemi Aladefa, Kehinde Aladefa, Gabriel Lessor and Kehinde Alamudun.
