Velva Marie Keeney, 79, died Friday at a local hospital. Graveside services will at 2 p.m. today at Coleman Cemetery with Louise Strength officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. Mrs. Keeney was born in Hillsboro and attended school in Albany. She was the widow of Vernon Cecil Minor, whom she married in 1936. She married Isaac Keeney in Abilene in 1948. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Survivors include her husband of Abilene; one son, Walter B. Minor of Katy; a stepson, I. Floyd Keeney of Coleman; two stepdaughters, Nancy Bebles of Coleman and Carolyn Broyles of Coleman; one brother, Ed Burge of Aspermont; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
