"Rock Island resident and Warren County native James N. (Jimmy) Roberts, 63, died Sept. 16 at River Park Hospital after a brief illness. A retired brick mason, he was the son of Herbert and Gracie Pearl O'Neal Roberts; and was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Dean Vandagriff; stepsons, Allen and Bobby Madewell. He is survived by stepdaughter and her spouse, Diane and Steve Young of McMinnville; granddaughters, Ashlie Young of Knoxville and Shellie Young of McMinnville; grandsons, Bradley Madewell of Knoxville and Micah Madewell of McMinnville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Myra and Leslie Lytle, Carolyn and Bobby Frazier, Wanda and Kenneth Keaton, Beverly and Edward Keith, all of McMinnville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sonny and Queita Roberts, Gary and Diane Roberts, Kenny and Pat Roberts, all of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at High's Chapel with Lane Dix officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service today at High's.
