Everett Elbert Simons

"SIMONS, Everett Elbert - McMinnville resident and Van Buren County, TN native Everett Elbert Simons, age 95, was born February 25, 1912 and died June 15, 2007 at River Park Hospital following a brief illness. A retired carpenter with Laws Construction and a member of the East End Church of Christ, he was the son of the late James E. and Hassie Elizabeth Hillis Simons. He was married to Grace Pauline Hillis who preceded him in death February 15, 2002. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Audrey McCoy and Inez Hale. He is survived by four sisters, Loray Eller of Knoxville and Virgie Ward, Faye Sharpe, and Lorena Simons all of McMinnville; brother, Joe Simons of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2007 in High's Chapel with Garland Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 a.m. until time of service Saturday at High's." (Obituary, 15 June 2007.)
