"Mrs. Mary Udene Smith, 38, wife of Charles H. Smith Jr., of the fifth district of this county, died at the Medical Clinic & Hospital, following an operations, at 4 o'clock Friday morning. Born in Warren county, she was a daughter of W. A. Grissom and Cora Hillis Grissom. Besides her husband, Mrs. Smith is survived by a son, Everette Mason Smith; three brothers, Hoyt Grissom, James W. Grissom and C. H. Grissom and her parents. The funeral was held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the Shellsford Baptist church with John W. High officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers were Ben Grove, Woodrow Martin, Abe Curtis, Smith Grove, Odie Bolin, and Carl Evins. Honorary pallbearers included F. L. Kirby, Malcolm Haley, Tom Chastain, Jeff Curtis, Tom Howard, Loyd Cantrell, Thurman McGee and Tommie Turner. Arrangements by High Funeral company.
