"The Rev. Wilfred Lawson of New Castle, a retired Methodist Minister, died Thursday night in a Roanoke hospital. He is survived by his wife and three sons, Dr. Eric Lawson, Syracuse, N. Y., Philip Lawson, Narrows, and Olen Lawson, New Castle. The funeral will be conducted at the New Castle Methodist Church at 3 p.m. Sunday." (The Roanoke Times, Roanoke, Virginia, June 17 1949.)
