"Oran Avery Graybeal, Jr. was a petroleum Engineer. Though he was on active duty in the Army, he did not serve overseas. In January 1944, he was placed on inactive duty to work on an important project for the Navy. In May 1945, he was given an honorable discharge from the Army to join the Navy, and was again placed on inactive duty to continue his work on the highly secretive project for the Navy, and in January 1946, he was given an honorable discharge from the Navy. His address was 4852 La Roda Avenue, Los Angeles, California." (Lois Temple FGS 481.)
