Edith Inez Wilkinson

"Edith I. Jameson, age 94, of Coleman died Thursday, January 24, 2002 at Coleman County Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m. Saturday (January 26, 2002) at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. G. Dean Coultas officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home. Mrs. Jameson was born November 4, 1907 in Coleman, a daughter of John Lee and Mabel Herring Wilkinson. She was reared and attended schools in Coleman. She married Leonard Jameson on December 9, 1934 in Coleman. He preceded her in death on August 1, 1978. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, County Home Demonstration Club. She also china painted and was very interested in the history of the Wilkinson and Jameson families. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sisters, Alice Wilkinson Mosteller of Austin, Gladys W. Dotson of Rusk; two brothers, Arthur Wilkinson of Coleman and Aubrey Wilkinson of Kyle (Texas); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters, Lucille Mosshart, Jane Kollman, Louise Owens, Rose Watson and three brothers, Clyde Wilkinson, Alva Lee Wilkinson and Charles C. Wilkinson. Pallbearers were nephews: Don Wilkinson, Brad Wilkinson, Edwin Kollman, George Owens and Randel Jameson." (Coleman Chronicle and Democrat-Voice, January 29, 2002, page 3.)
