John Pace Langford

(December 14, 1819 - Aft 1880)

John Pace Langford's first wife, Eliza Jane died when they were traveling by covered wagon between Arkansas and Texas about 1864. It is not known if he returned directly to Arkansas. He was a Democrat, a strict member of the Epicopal Church South, was the coroner 1876 - 1878, the Justice of the Peace, and postmaster in the Scottsville community for many years. He remained a farmer most of his life. (From a Pope County, Arkansas history book.)
