Charles Davis Winn

"The marriage of Capt. Charles D. Winn, of this city, and Elisabeth Keene, of Winchester, will be solemnized next Thursday afternoon in Winchester at the home of Mrs. K. J. Morris, aunt of the presective bride. The wedding will be very quiet." (The Bourbon News, Paris, Kentucky, February 16, 1900.)

"Col.Winn served with the army in France, was a graduate of Virginia Millitary Institute in 1893, and after the close of the World War retired from the army with the rank of Colonel April 3, 1923. He was Col. Q.M.C., and he received distinguished service medal. He also served in the Spanish -American War with the rank of Captain. No children. He died July 31, 1942 at Walter Reed Hospital and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery." ("Winn Memories" by James French Winn.)
