"Whitesboro, Texas. - Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Whitesboro Methodist Church for Thomas Green Lewter, 80, of the Dexter community, who died Saturday in Gainesville. Burial was in Whitesboro Cemetery. He was a retired farmer.
Lewter was born March 12, 1874, at Dexter, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. D.W. Lewter. He married Miss Emma Greer in 1897 in Dexter. He is survived by his wife; eight sons, H. C. Lewter of Dexter, W.T. Lewter of El Paso, Burl Lewter of Pampa, P. G. Lewter of Albuquerque, N.M.; H.F. and Barnett Lewter, both of Whitesboro; Guy Lewter of Gainesville, and D. M. Lewter of Grand Prairie; six daughters, Mrs. Lillian Barnes of Gainesville, Mrs. Opal Woods of Franklin, Mrs. Lucille Watson of Whitesboro, Mrs. Harry Frazier of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Bill Rose of Fort Worth and Mrs. H. Y. Snow of Collinsville; five brothers, R. H. Lewter, W. P. Lewter, J. D. Lewter, Bert Lewter, Bart Lewter; four sisters, Mrs. John Turner, Mrs. Archie Lightfoot, Mrs. Neal Adkins of Gainesville, and Mrs. Hattie Butts." (Obituary of Thomas G. Lewter.)
