"Funeral services for Alphia David Martin, retired First District farmer, were held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Crain Hill Church of Christ. W. C. Reeder, Church of Christ evangelist, officaiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Martin died at his home here Wednesday at 3 a.m. following a year's illness. He was 94 years of age. A son of Noah and Arsena Hitchcock Martin, Mr. Martin was born in Bledsoe County on December 15, 1861. He was married to the former Elizabeth Walling. She died about 25 years ago. The deceased was a member of the Church of Christ. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Claud Bouldin and Mrs. Will Jones, McMinnville; two sons, Lloyd and Walter Martin, both of Rock Island; two sisters, Belle Simmons, Spencer, and Nancy Barnes, Texas, and two brothers, Rufus Martin, Washington, and Rance Martin, McMinnville.
