"Leonard D. Sills, 77, of Harrisburg died Sunday at the Green Valley Rehabilitation Health Center. 

"Leonard was born in Kellyville, Okla., the son of Marion and Sarah (Smith) Sills. He moved to California at the age of 12. He lived in several areas in California and Oregon throughout his adult life. He had lived in Harrisburg for the past eight years.

He worked as a pastor, a truck driver and an upholsterer during his life. He served in the U.S. Army after World War II and was involved in the peacekeeping efforts along the Italian-Yugoslavian border. Leonard married Margie V. Wood in Corcoran, Calif., on Dec. 3, 1948. He was a member of the Valley Christian Center in Harrisburg. His greatest hobby was teasing his grandchildren.

"He is survived by wife Margie of Harrisburg; daughters Barbara and husband Dale Sage of Joplin, Mo., and Pat and husband Bob Wilson of Harrisburg; son Al and wife Pam Sills of Warner Robins, Ga.; brothers Vic Sills of Porterville, Calif., and Clayton Sills of Granby, Mass.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

"A funeral service will be Thursday at the Valley Christian Center in Harrisburg. Burial will be in the Lebanon IOOF Cemetery. Family requests memorial contributions to the Gideon's Bible Program in care of Huston-Jost Funeral Home, 86 W. Grant St., Lebanon, OR 97355."
